GO WEST. 10 things to do in San Francisco.

This September I was lucky enough to go to this great city. After collecting my thoughts and impressions now I’m ready to share it with you.

GO ON TOUR

Bike or bus tour is always a good idea. Walking in SF is hard, cuz just climbing Russian Hill is a feat. City tours will give you a chance to see all the most famous sights such as Golden gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Park, De Young Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, Asian Art Museum and Museum of Modern Art, Palace of Fine Arts and money others without wasting yourself. You will still need to go to see Lombard Street, famous former prison Alcatraz Island and twin Peaks by yourself.

WAKE UP WITH THE SUNRISE

Yes. Doesn’t matter where in Europe or america you’re from you’re gonna have a JETLAG. Happy you if you travel from Asia or Alaska (Brrrr…)! All the shops are gonna be closed at 6-7am, so use this time to enjoy the sunrise and probably sleep a bit more – only it can kill the time difference problems.

MAKE SHOPPING

Even if you’d say it is not like in NYC, the shopping is still very convenient in SF. First — main department stores including Macy’s, Saks, Westfield, Bloomingdales and many separate shops are located around Union Square and easy to access. Second — you can get almost anything here including Made in USA jeans from Levi’s which are originally from San Francisco.

WALK THE BRIDGE (AND GO TO ANOTHER SIDE)

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the mile-wide, three-mile-long channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It has 6 car lines, bicycle and pedestrian paths. Use them to cross it. The length is 2.7 km (1.7 miles) and you can make it in around 25 mins.

USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

You can not visit San Francisco and not to use its cable cars and MUNI (trams). Both are pure history and for the first ones — only place in the world to use this kinda cars for public transit. Don’t pay 7$ every time entering the coach. Take a travel card for 3 days for just 26$ (one day cost 17$ what isn’t convenient) and use as much busses, MUNI and cable cars as you want.

SEE THE CITY AT NIGHT

Take a car, train or bus to the other side on the Treasure Island (some bus tours includes the night trip here) or just walk in the side coming down to port. The city looks wonderful! Also go to Marriott high floor bar for a drink with sunset or a night view.

GO GAY (EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT)

This not a gay capital OF SOMETHING, This is just a Gay Capital Of The World. Logically you should visit the most common aren for parties, shops etc — CASTRO. Located on the south of city centre. And you won’t miss it — the rainbow flags are flowing all over the place!Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 12.17.21

Iconic locations, fun attractions and great food. Simply order crab anywhere in port and you will enjoy this delicates for a reasonable price. There are also some museums including Madame Tussaud and Dungeon of San Francisco. Big Bus Tours are also starts here.
