To have nice things is good, to know how they were assembled—even better. We’ve toured the MYKITA factory in Berlin to show you how Tom Cruise’s favourite glasses are made: Handmade in Berlin. Have a close look at the steps of assembly of a MYKITA frame below.
The name MYKITA is derived from “Kita” (a common abbreviation for Kindertagesstätte) and is a reference to the firm’s first premises in a former day nursery. In August 2014, the Berlin-based company moved to Kreuzberg, Ritterstraße 9. A his- torically listed building with a loft-like atmosphere from the year 1902 provides a new home to the modern manufactory.

The metal frame of MYKITA uses 0.5mm thick stainless steel and no screws at all. The front and temples are joined with spiral hinges, and because of this structure, the frame can be adjusted precisely. MYKITA glasses are very comfortable and offer great strengt; it is particularly notable that these are made and designed with excellent style. With its simple looking frames, beautiful lens shapes and variations of colorings, you can see and feel full of MYKITA-ism to your heart’s content.

MYKITA has an incredible design and brand development. The biggest stars incl. Sarah Jessica Parker,Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Angelina Jolie, Anna dello Russo, Anne Hathaway, Björk, Prince, Cara Delevigne, Cindy Crawford, Daniel Craig, Eva Longoria and many other great artists loves and wears MYKITA. And I though why not to find my perfect match? Here we go! Introducing Daisuké glasses from a collaboration collection with Bernhard Willhelm. LOL. Basically I’m really in love with MYKITA & Bernhard Willhelm FRANZ golden sunglasses which Carrie worn in Sex & The City Movie 2. They are adorable!
