FASTER! How to make a shirt in 2 hours

On my trip in India I went to Jaipur.  By car and with a private driver. Obviously, he was taking me to the places where he could get a commission from my purchases. But in a one place I was really surprised and spend money with a pleasure. Read below…

This is just a one usual textile factory in India. You can come there and see lots of fabrics for your choice. You can see other tourists. But the guy who was introducing the store to me said that he can make a suit for me in 6 hours. I was impressed, but not enough to buy it – not sure indian is my type of suits… Then he said that he can make a shirt in 2 hours. That sounds like a challenge! Especially it’s hard to destroyed the custom made shirt…. I said Yes.

He was kinda against me to take the pictures. 

One minute later I was standing in from of the tailor for measures. I choose linen as a fabric because I don’t have any shirt made from that. Fully cutaway collar which I showed them how to make and slim fit shape. Ten minutes later I paid – just $30. It sounds cheap for european tailoring or american, but bit expensive for indian or Chinese.

Three hours later in my hotel I received the shirt. It was well fitted and surprising good looking. But next day i still had to go to the factory to fix the collar. So, I came to the factory and had a chance to see INSIDE. It was shocking! You can see it on the pics.

Kinda poor things to see this young man working here. Not sure it is legal or whatever, but at least he’s responsible for his family I think.
